Kylie Jenner Tried To Trademark Her Name And Kylie Minogue Is Not Happy
Kylie Jenner, social media star and half sister to Kim Kardashian has applied to trademark her first name – a move that has not gone down well with Aussie pop princess that is Kylie Minogue.
Last year, the 19-year-old filed the application to trademark ‘Kylie’ for ‘entertainment in the nature of providing information by means of a global computer network in the fields of entertainment, fashion and pop culture’.
(From now on they will be Kylie M and Kylie J.)
However, leaked court documents have revealed that the Australian songstress has opposed the request on the grounds it could cause confusion for fans as well as diluting the Minogue brand – and it basically got pretty bitchy.
In the papers, from the pint sized pop stars lawyers, Jenner is described as a ‘supporting character’ in Keeping Up With The Kardashians and is criticized for her ‘photographic exhibitionism’ on social media…;BURN.
It states: “‘Ms. Jenner is a secondary reality television personality who appeared on the television series ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ as a supporting character, to Ms. Jenner’s half sisters, Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney Kardashian (i.e. the Kardashians).
We’re pretty sure egotistical Kylie J will not be happy about being referred to as a ‘supporting character.’
It goes on : ‘Ms. Jenner is active on social media where her photographic exhibitionism and controversial posts have drawn criticism from, e.g., the Disability Rights and African-American communities.’
This refers to Kylie J’s photo shoot for Paper Magazine when she shocked fans across the world by posing in a gold plated wheelchair.
Where Kylie M is described in the paperwork as an internationally renowned performing artist, humanitarian and breast cancer activist – a far cry from the reality stars claim to fame.
The 47-year-old already owns the trademarks for the terms ‘Kylie Minogue darling’, ‘Lucky – the Kylie Minogue musical’ as well as owning the rights to kylie.com since 1996…;before Kylie J was even born.
Despite the name battle going on for a year or so, both parties have kept it private until Kylie M took to twitter and said: “Hello…;..My name is KYLIE #lightyears’, which could be a pretty obvious dig at the youngest Kardashian sister.
